ATI Systems
ATI Systems, Inc. is a full service distributor and designer of radiant floor
heating systems, snowmelt systems, hydronic heating systems and HVAC related products located in south central Pennsylvania. In addition to hydronics focused products, they also serve as representatives for Air Sox fabric air duct systems and energy recovery ventilation equipment from Nu-Air Ventilation Systems.
History
ATI Systems was founded by Carl Longenecker in 1997 as a distributor of
specialty HVAC products, which incorporated value added services such as system design and engineering with their offerings.
Typically, contractors come to the company with plans or concepts for systems they desire to offer their customers. From here ATI performs load calculations and evaluates buildings for the best products and system design for the end user. This is followed by the development of a complete system layout, takeoff, and drawings depending on the complexity of the job.
On some occasions this even includes site visits before, during, or after installation to ensure optimum performance. With these additional services, ATI quickly became a premier distributor of floor heating systems in central PA in the past several decades. As part of the value added service for these systems, the company offers integrated packaging where the contractor has all the components included and sized properly, not having to worry that a critical item has been missed in the quotation / supply process.
Building on the success of the radiant floor heat products, the company
added several heat sources for the hydronic systems and floor heat projects they sell. These include Baxi and Dunkirk high effeciency condensing gas boilers, Froling cord wood and pellet biomass boilers and ThermAtlantic air to water heat pumps.

Our Team
Carl
Carl Longenecker founded ATI Systems in November 1997 with a belief that there was a need for a new type of specialty representative of HVAC products. He believed that by providing design and engineering services in conjunction with the products sold, one could create a value added product/service combination.
Carl has been involved in the HVAC/R industry for over 40 years. Working for a mechanical contractor through high school and college, he learned first hand the necessity of quality products and the importance of well engineered system design.
In 1985, Carl graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a
B.S. degree in busiess and continued to be involved in the HVAC industry in contracting.
From 1987 to 1997, Carl worked for a large national wholesale distributing company. While there, he held positions in both management and outside sales. This period in his career offered exposure to an extremely wide variety of projects and therefore afforded experience in many fields within the HVAC industry.
By the late 1990’s, the opportunity seemed to present itself for a new type of manufacturer’s representative, one who could offer more than products alone. Within the industry, radiant floor heat was just beginning to take off in the USA. It was with this product niche that Carl launched this new enterprise. Following the establishment of the company, several other specialty type product lines which lent themselves to value added services were brought into the product mix.
Carl currently lives in the in the historic village of Safe Harbor, PA with his wife Lori. In his free time Carl enjoys hiking, canoeing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Russ
Russ Wiggins brings a lot of experience to ATI Systems with a long and varied career. Even though Russ could be retired, he has chosen to utilize the experience he has gained over many years to the benefit of the company, our customers, and vendors. Russ has in excess of thirty years of practical experience in manufacturing while employed at Kerr Group.
During his time there, he worked in both production as well as management. He had responsibilities overseeing entire shift output for the packaging manufacturer. Following his tenure at Kerr Group, he spent another seven
years working in ice cream production for Kroger/Turkey Hill. He likes to point out that this job had a unique fringe benefit…samples!
It was out of the time spent at these two companies that he developed the diverse set of skills which he brings to ATI Systems in the management of logistics and inventory
systems. Russ says that the aspect he enjoys the most about his current position is the people he gets to interact with each day!
During his free time, Russ enjoys tending his huge garden in the summer, hunting in the fall, and doing things with his grandchildren anytime. Russ has been married to his wife Carol for over 50 years and currently lives in Willow Street, Pennsylvania.
Ben Shue
Ben Shue is the full time systems application engineer at ATI Systems and is very knowledgeable with designing both radiant floor heating systems as well as snowmelt systems.
Ben uses state of the art proprietary load calculation software as well as CAD layout software for designing hydronic systems. Ben loves being a part of seeing a project transformed from paper to an operating system! In his previous employment, he held various position in both sales and the construction field.
Ben holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Economics. He is always a valuable source of information when it comes to the latest global news and financial market conditions. In his free time Ben enjoys playing guitar, cooking, traveling, running and spending time with friends and family. Ben lives in Millersville, Pennsylvania.
